Rest(t)raum - Eine Symphonie des Unscheinbaren
Rest(t)raum - A symphony of the inconspicuous
What does open space, however small it may be, do to the cityscape?
In September 2ß24, we will explore the main road between Elberfeld and Barmen on short walks, searching together for the remaining spaces and the dreams of this road.
Artists from Wuppertal, North Rhine-Westphalia and collectives working throughout Germany will dedicate themselves to these empty spaces. The places will be scanned, visually, acoustically and performatively. They become scenes of collective dreaming and action. These moments of play and community leave their mark, sharpening our perception of urban space. For a fleeting moment, these unused corners, forgotten areas and edges of our city take on a supposed significance. Like a brief dream, they are brought into the limelight before being returned to their actual “non-functionality”.
