Want to stay where I have never been
AlmResidency, Jet Leg and LongegaProject - The hidden Munich roots of three non-institutional artist residencies

Exchange programs for artists have a long tradition. The opportunity to live and work in a foreign place for a certain period of time has lost none of its fascination. The Rathausgalerie brings together three artist residencies initiated by Munich artists: AlmResidency, Jet Leg and LongegaProject. The exhibition focuses on collective collaboration, international exchange and the crossing of borders.
A modular “installation on wheels” will be created. The exhibition will be accompanied by events and art mediation programmes in German, German Sign Language and English. With city-wide activities Want to stay where I have never been enters the public space. Three flags by artists who are unable to take part in the project in person will be displayed on the façade of the Department of Arts and Culture at Burgstraße 4.
